Original United Artists Twenty Four Sheet Poster (9 ft x 20 ft) for the Terence Young adventure thriller, THUNDERBALL (1965)– starring Sean Connery, Claudine Auger, and Adolfo Celi. Perhaps the most outrageous James Bond poster around as well as the largest. THUNDERBALL (1965) was the first really widescreen Bond movie, and the film demonstrably took the effects and sweep of the films to center stage. From this point forward James Bond movies would be above all LARGE. I regard it as the first of the Big Bond movies. Since so much of it happens underwater, how better to display the big guy other than in his S.C.U.B.A gear? Move over, Esther Williams, the name is Bond – James Bond. Here is a poster on the such a scale that even Emilio Largo would be envious. The twenty four sheet is printed on multiple panels which must be joined for display. This example was never used and exists in remarkable shape.
