Based on a novel by Nevil Shute, this is the story of a crusty Brit on vacation in France, with World War II imminent, who is persuaded to take a friend’s two small children to safety in England. Other children join the group along the way until the Germans, commanded by Preminger, capture them. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards—including Best Picture, Best Actor for Woolley, and Best Cinematography. This beautiful stone lithography one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition with some minor tears but with good color and paper integrity. Linen-backing would transform this poster into a showpiece.
