Original Universal Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41.5×80.25) for the Roy William Neill crime adventure, PURSUIT TO ALGIERS (1945) starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. This film is the tenth in the Universal series of twelve Sherlock Holmes films. In this story, Holmes and Watson are recruited to escort the heir of a European throne back to his native country following his father’s assassination. This unusual Holmes movie has a musical component; indeed, there are no less than four complete songs sung in the film, with Nigel Bruce getting in on one of them. THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (1938) 19271

Original Warner Bros. One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Michael Curtiz and William Keighley adventure epic, THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (1938)—starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland. Fresh from his overnight success in CAPTAIN BLOOD (1935), Flynn was the archetypal Robin Hood; indeed, the young and athletic actor insisted on doing most of his own stunts, including perilous leaps and the scaling of high walls. Flynn was surrounded with some of the best character actors of the day. This film was one of the first color productions, and the entire movie is bathed in astounding Technicolor. The lavish sets and the rich score by Erich Korngold also add greatly to the production quality of the film. Many critics still consider this one of the greatest adventure films ever produced, and THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD remains to this day one of the most popular films of all time. This original one sheet poster is in very good condition. We are showing this poster unrestored.

TALES OF TERROR (1962) 4893

full.talesofterror-3sh

Original American International Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the Roger Corman horror classic, TALES OF TERROR (1962) starring horror all-stars Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, and Basil Rathbone. This trilogy is a very loose adaptation by Richard Matheson of three of Edgar Allan Poe’s stories. These stories are not for the hardcore horror fan, but rather have a camp and kooky style that is as much about comedy as about horror. Roger Corman directed eight movies based on Poe’s stories. TALES OF TERROR was the fourth one and implements a wicked sense of humor for the first time that will become the trademark of the later films. This original three sheet poster is in very fine condition.
