This is an original Columbia Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Roy William Neill horror classic, THE BLACK ROOM (1935) starring Boris Karloff, Marian Marsh, and Robert Allen. Ignoring an ancient prophecy, evil brother Gregor seeks to maintain feudal power on his Tyrolean estate by murdering and impersonating his benevolent younger twin. Karloff , in one of the best performances of his career, plays both the monstrous and benign brothers, but also portrays the nasty brother imitating the gentle one. This very, very rare portrait lobby card of Boris Karloff is in very fine condition with only multiple pinholes in the border area.

Original Universal 1953 Realart Re-Release One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the James Whale horror classic, THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) starring Boris Karloff, Elsa Lanchester, and Ernest Thesiger. Many critics consider this film to be the best horror movie of all time, but certainly it is one of the few sequels that is distinctly better than its predecessor, primarily because of its superior wit and satire. It should perhaps be described as a horror comedy. The special effects are better than the original, and the memorable sequence in which the Bride is brought to life is simply the most famous scene in horror cinema history. Indeed, Lanchester who was only 5’4″ tall used stilts to make her 7′ tall. The music by Franz Waxman is a classic in emotion and excitement. This James Whale masterpiece is regarded as the high point of the successful and popular Universal horror series. The 1953 Realart Reissued poster is linen-backed and in fine plus condition. Realart was a company formed in the late 1940s to re-release certain Universal titles. These posters are different from their Universal Picture counterparts — and occasionally better. There is some minor touch-up to fold lines. There is a stamp on the reverse side that is slightly visible from the front. Realistically speaking, the Realart poster on this title presents an opportunity to own an authentic BRIDE poster, albeit a re-release, at a price which is dramatically less than any originally issued Universal poster. The colors are vivid, and there is no missing paper.

Original American International Pictures Six Sheet Poster (81×81) for the Roger Corman comedy/horror classic, THE RAVEN (1963) starring horror all-stars Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, and Boris Karloff. This film is a follow up to the earlier Corman/Poe box office success–TALES OF TERROR (1962). And like the earlier film, this witty screenplay is also written by Richard Matheson and based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe. However, the script has almost nothing to do with Poe’s famous poem. The film has excellent and stylized direction by Corman, remarkable sets by Daniel Haller, colorful costumes, and great special effects for the time. This original six sheet poster is in four panels (shown here assembled) and is in near mint condition.
