Original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Steve Rash musical biography, THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY (1978)—starring Gary Busey, Don Stroud, Charles Martin Smith, and Conrad Janis. This excellent biography tells the story of Buddy Holly from his early day of “Peggy Sue” to his untimely death at age 22 in 1959. Busey, Smith, and Stroud actually played the music live for the film, and many critics believe that Busey’s portrayal of Holly is the best performance of his career. Indeed, he was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar, the only nomination he has received so far. The film also was nominated for Best Sound and Joe Renzetti won the Oscar for Best Musical Score. This original one sheet poster is folded and in fine plus condition, with only some minor rumpling and a play date stamped in the bottom border area.
