Original United Artists Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Frank Lloyd drama, THE AGE FOR LOVE (1931) starring Billie Dove, Charles Starrett, Lois Wilson, and Edward Everett Horton. Howard Hughes’ The Caddo Company produced this film and eight others including SCARFACE (1932). Hughes intended to use the film to show that his current flame, silent film leading lady Dove, would be a smash hit in the talkies. She plays a working girl who consents to marry Starrett on the condition that she not be expected to bear children. Despite all of the efforts of Hughes and others, the film failed to rescue her flagging career. This original scene lobby card of Dove and Starrett is in good condition—with minor tears, creases, and missing left bottom corner. The delicate small tears have been restrained with archival tissue on the reverse of the card. Very few cards have ever been offered on this film.
