The was the dubbed English version of the original Italian film, IL PIANETA DEGLI UOMINI SPENTI (1961), about an asteroid on a collision course with the earth that instead goes into orbit around the earth and from which it launches flying saucers to attack the earth. Claude Rains gives a typically wonderful performance as the cynical scientist guiding the efforts to thwart the alien invaders. This original scene lobby card is in good condition—with some creases, wrinkling, and tape on the reverse side.

This turbulent love story with harrowing intrigue opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1942 at the Hollywood Theater in New York– three weeks after the Allies landed at Casablanca. The film catapulted the beautiful Swedish actress Bergman into superstar status. The film also advanced Bogart from his former “gangster” roles to the first of many romantic leads for the popular actor. Bergman had never worked with Bogart before this film and never would again.
