Original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Gerald Potterton animated musical fantasy, HEAVY METAL (1981) starring the voices of Rodger Bumpass, John Candy, and Jackie Burroughs. Based on the popular animated adult comic books of the same name, this Canadian production was started in 1978 and completed in 1981. Like its comic book namesake, there is a great deal of graphic violence, nudity, and sexuality– plus a great soundtrack featuring Blue Oyster Cult, Devo, Black Sabbath, and Journey. Although not a box office success on its initial run, the film became a popular cult attraction over time, especially for midnight features. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.
