Original Cinerama Releasing Corp Window Card (14×22) for the Bernard L. Kowalski adventure drama, KRAKATOA: EAST OF JAVA (1969)—starring Maximillian Schell, Diane Baker, Brian Keith, and Barbara Werle. The producers learned of the geographic error—Krakatoa was really WEST of Java in the Sundra Strait—only after all the advertising and publicity materials had already been prepared. It was decided that it would be too costly to correct this error. While the effects surrounding the eruption are good and garnered the film its only Oscar nomination for Best Special Visual Effects— the acting, dialogue, and directing are lackluster at best. Kowalski was basically a TV director, and he never really uses the “big” screen, let alone Cinerama, to its full potential. The window card has the Cinerama fan-fold logo and a hand written announcement in the play-date area. Otherwise, the window card is in very good condition.
MARNIE (1964) 20187

Original Universal Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Alfred Hitchcock mystery thriller, MARNIE (1964) starring Tippi Hedren, Sean Connery, Diane Baker, and Martin Gabel. Starring Hedren as Marnie and Connery as the man who falls in love with her, this movie tells of a compulsive thief and pathological liar who is caught by Connery and blackmailed into marrying him. Though a critical and financial failure when released in 1964, the film has been “rediscovered’ by critics who are fascinated with the film’s emphasis on Freudian psychoanalysis, sexual abuse, gender roles, trauma, and sexual deviance. This original scene lobby card of Connery and Hedren is in very fine condition.
