Original 20th Century Fox three sheet poster for the Richard Fleischer film THESE THOUSAND HILLS (1959). This western melodrama was based on a novel by A.B. Guthrie and starred Don Murray, Lee Remick, and Patricia Owens. This poster is comprised of two sheets which are glued together. This poster has already been assembled and has been stored folded. Very Good plus. Some minor distresses and general wear. No significant missing paper. Colors are bright.

Original Polish Poster (23×33) for the Joshua Logan romance, BUS STOP (1969) starring Marilyn Monroe, Don Murray, Arthur O’Connell, Betty Field, Eileen Heckart and Hope Lange. This poignant comedy, based on a popular Broadway play by William Inge, follows a lonely cowboy’s pursuit of the lovely Cherie (Monroe), a saloon singer he encounters while attending the Phoenix, AZ rodeo. Poster design features magnificent Marilyn Monroe, done in multiple images in the silkscreen style of an Andy Warhol portrait. With artwork by Rapnicki, this original Polish poster is in very fine condition.

Original 20th Century-Fox Style B One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the J. Lee Thompson sci-fi classic, CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (1972) starring Roddy McDowall, Don Murray, and Ricardo Montalban. Taking place some 18 years after the original ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES, many critics and sci-fi aficionados consider this fourth film to be the best of the APES sequels. Taking place after a mysterious plague kills all the cats and dogs on earth—a new service called Ape Management is established to train apes to serve humans. But Ape leader Caesar (McDowall) is enraged by this bondage and launches a full-scale war to overthrow humans. This original style B one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition– with only a minor tear in the upper left corner, some minor edge wear, and minor foxing at the fold lines.

This one sheet is a rare style with alternate art by the great American illustrator Saul Bass. ADVISE AND CONSENT is one of the more entertaining political film of the sixties and is about a Senate investigation into a President’s newly nominated Secretary of State. During the hearings, the nominee reveals a secret from the past, which may not only ruin the candidate but also bring into question the President’s judgment. Sound familiar? The characters are beautifully drawn, the performances are all equally brilliant, and Sam Leavitt’s luminous black and white cinematography creates just the right mood. ADVISE AND CONSENT was one of the very successful films by director Otto Preminger. Preminger’s notion of edgy adult drama enjoyed a huge commercial success in the decades of the 1950s and 1960s. This one sheet poster created by famed artist Saul Bass is linen-backed and in very fine condition. With art similar to the three sheet, this style one sheet poster is RARE. Some slight border repair.

Inge had won the Pulitzer Prize for playwriting for PICNIC in 1953. Immediately after PICNIC came the play BUS STOP. This is the story of innocent rodeo cowboy Bo (Murray) who falls in love with a caf√© singer Cherie (Monroe) in Phoenix. She tries to run away to Los Angeles, but Murray finds her and forces her to get on the bus back to his Montana ranch. Monroe creates one of her most memorable and deeply touching characters in “chanteuse” Cherie. In his book on Marilyn, the writer Norman Mailer asserts that the actress never looked more ravishing than she did in BUS STOP. The character of Bo was Murray’s first and best-remembered screen role and netted him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. William Inge later won an Academy Award for his screenplay SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS. This original scene lobby card is in fine condition, with only minor surface wear and a minor hole in the middle of the upper border.
