This was the last studio picture for Lewis under his old Paramount contract before he formed his own independent production company. This is an original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Henry Hathaway western, THE SONS OF KATIE ELDER (1965) starring John Wayne, Dean Martin, Michael Anderson Jr., and Earl Holliman. The story is about the four sons of ranch owner Katie Elder who determine to avenge the murder of their father and the swindling of their mother. This was a special film for Wayne—the first film he made after having a cancerous lung removed. Besides excellent performances, a great musical score by Elmer Bernstein, the action sequences are some of the best in any Hollywood western. This original one sheet poster is in very fine condition.
