Original Paramount Pictures lobby card set for the Allen Reisner musical biography, ST. LOUIS BLUES (1958) starring Nat “King” Cole, Eartha Kitt, Cab Calloway, and Ella Fitzgerald. This film is the biography of blues composer Will Handy, who grew up in Memphis the son of a preacher who fully intended for his son to use his musical talents only in church. Will can’t stay away from the popular blues, but he does finally reconcile with his father after his music receives overwhelming critical acclaim. The real Will Handy served as a consultant on the film, but sadly never lived to see it open. Superb cards feature all of the principal players in what are some of the best cinema images of each of the black superstars. And as a plus, NEAR MINT. Larger file photos of each of the cards are available; please inquire.
