The plot centers around the opening of a luxury nightclub atop a 100-story skyscraper and the conflict over what kind of floorshow to present. Bandleader Murphy wants hot tunes, great dancing, and razzle-dazzle. But club owner Nolan wants something artistic and socially significant. The film presents a wild variety of the musical comedy specialty acts from the period. It’s a real hodge-podge and definitely a mixed bag. But whatever faults it might have, the film is never boring.
