She gained fame on Los Angeles television station KHJ wearing a black, gothic, cleavage-enhancing gown as host of Movie Macabre, a weekly horror movie presentation. Her wickedly vampish appearance is offset by her comical character, quirky/quick-witted personality, and valley girl-type speech.

Honey (Kennedy), Jill (Guthrie), and Denise (Rose) are three wily, wandering, willing women looking to make a buck any way they can in 1974 LA. Rothman’s films differed from many cult classics of the era in that they “sexploited” men as often as women, pandering to the perverts in both genders. THE WORKING GIRLS also contains a brief nude scene of Cassandra Peterson (of later Elvira fame), which makes the film a must-see as far as most guys are concerned. And by the way, also starring Solomon Sturges – who will never be confused with Preston.
