VIVA LAS VEGAS (1964) 20000

full.vivalasvegas-3sh-20000

Original MGM Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the George Sidney romantic musical comedy, VIVA LAS VEGAS (1960) starring Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret. This film was more successful than BLUE HAWAII (1961) and turned out to be one of his best musical films. With delightful musical numbers, Presley and Ann-Margret produced great on-screen chemistry. Indeed, when the wedding scene was filmed, many tabloid magazines of the time published photos of the “wedding” and suggested that the two had actually gotten married. Originally folded, this three sheet poster has minor cross-fold separations, ghosting in the tagline, and tanning in the fold lines—otherwise, the poster is in very fine condition.

PARADISE HAWAIIAN STYLE (1966) 20512

full.paradisehawaiianstyle-pressbook

Original Paramount Pictures Pressbook (11×15) for the Michael D. Moore musical comedy, PARADISE, HAWAIIAN STYLE (1966)–starring Elvis Presley, Suzanna Leigh and James Shigeta. Elvis had been over this territory for Paramount once before, in the more sumptuous BLUE HAWAII (1961). That movie had been blessed with at least one song that made it into the Elvis Canon, “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You.” No such luck here, but we do have a more sixties if not more sexy Elvis flaunting his playboy ways as a roguish pilot who starts a helicopter flying service in the islands. Add a pretty girl, Suzanna Leigh, and an appealing handsome Japanese-American actor, James Shigeta (of FLOWER DRUM SONG fame) and you have the Elvis Formula in place. 16 pages of unadulterated Elvisiana, the pressbook also comes with a herald for the film. Heralds were given out by theaters to patrons in advance of the playdate for a film in order to build interest. The pressbook contains a lovely caricature of Elvis by caricaturist Ronald Christiano. The pressbook is in very good condition, but there is a near cut on the front cover on the right side of the book. There are no excisions or cuts in this pressbook.
