Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Robert Greenwald musical fantasy, XANADU (1980) starring Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly, and Michael Beck. Kira (Newton-John) a Greek muse incarnated as a girl attempts to inspire an artist named Sonny (Beck) with the help of Danny (Kelly), a man Kira inspired forty years earlier. American copywriter and publicist John J. B. Wilson decided to formalize his Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) after watching a double feature of CAN’T STOP THE MUSIC (1980) and XANADU. The film received 6 Razzie nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay, Worst Original Song, Worst Actor for Beck, and Worst Actress for Newton-John. Robert Greewald won the Razzie for Worst Director. With good color and no fold separations, this original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine plus condition.

This holy grail of musical documentaries lets the MGM stars present their favorite moments from the studio’s 50 year history, presenting both the still-famous as well as the once-famous. Even though few of the films included had been restored at the time of release—THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT is still a feast of brilliant colors, gorgeous costumes, and spectacular dance numbers. This original advance one sheet poster is folded and in good condition—with some tape on both the front and reverse sides.

Original French Poster (47×63) for the Vincente Minnelli musical fantasy, BRIGADOON (1954) starring Gene Kelly, Van Johnson, Cyd Charisse, and Elaine Stewart. This is the charming story of two Americans, Jeff (Johnson) and Tommy (Kelly), who while on a hunting vacation in Scotland discover a quaint and enchanted village called Brigadoon, which only appears for one day every hundred years. The original Broadway production opened at the Ziegfeld Theater on March 13, 1947 and ran for 581 performances. Kelly wanted to shoot the film on location in Scotland, but the studio said that would be too expensive; so, Minnelli had to create an 18th century Scottish village on a studio set. With original artwork by Roger Soubie, this original French poster is folded and in fine, if somewhat fragile, condition. Linen-backing is suggested.

Turner gives her finest performance as the notorious Lady De Winter who lies, steals, and murders her way from France to England. Kelly also hits the mark with his very athletic portrayal of the hotheaded but good-hearted D’Artagan. Loaded with exciting sword fights and other action scenes, this colorful swashbuckling adventure romance is visually great entertainment. The film received an Academy Award nomination was for Best Cinematography. This original insert poster is folded and in very fine condition.

In his first dramatic movie role, daredevil Knievel foils a drug shipment, charms a Mother Superior, reunites with an estranged son, inspires crippled children to walk again, seduces a feminist photographer, and makes a 150-foot jump over a cage full of lions! Evel was a great showman and very popular in the 1970s. We don’t know exactly how this poster was used because it does not fit into the normal film poster categories. This is a special size. Maybe for use as some kind of odd teaser poster. This original special poster is in very fine condition.

This delightful, light-hearted, romantic musical comedy centers on two sailors (Sinatra and Kelly) who have a few days leave in Hollywood. They meet a little boy who wants to run away from home and join the navy. When they take him home, they meet his singer-wannabe aunt (Grayson), and the romance begins. Released some months before the end of the war, this film was Gene Kelly’s first true starring role at MGM and one of his major musical triumphs of the 1940s. This original half sheet poster is folded and in very good condition.

This is an original Warner Brothers Insert Poster (14×36) for the Irving Rapper romantic drama, MARJORIE MORNINGSTAR (1958) starring Gene Kelly, Natalie Wood, and Claire Trevor. This is the story of college girl Marjorie (Wood) who meets and falls in love with a dramatist (Kelly) while working as a counselor at a summer camp. This begins an on-again-off-again relationship until Marjorie finally gives up. There is tremendous on-screen chemistry between Wood and Kelly, in spite of the large difference in their ages. Wood lobbied heavily for the role in her successful attempt to transition from teen star to leading lady. The film received a lone Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. This original insert poster is folded and in very fine condition with only a few pinholes.
