And James Stewart’s father was so offended by the film that he took out an ad in his local newspaper urging people not to see it. The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards—including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Actor for Stewart, and Best Supporting Actor for both O’Connell and Scott. In this very funny comedy, Scott plays a rural con artist who takes on a young protégé (Sarrazin) and teaches him the tricks of the trade. But the law is always one step away from catching the two petty criminals. Jerry Goldsmith’s excellent score perfectly compliments the various scenes in the film. This original one sheet poster is folded and in fine plus condition, with only some evidence of tape in the top border area.

Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Richard Fleischer action crime drama, THE LAST STAND (1971) starring George C. Scott, Tony Musante, Trish Van Devere, and Colleen Dewhurst. The film chronicles a former getaway driver (Scott) who has retired to a peaceful Portuguese fishing village. But he is asked to pull off one last job, and he accepts. Scott’s memorable portrayal of an aging criminal is low-key but extremely effective. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition, with irregular folds.

Scott delivers a textured and nuanced portrayal of Patton, and he will always be remembered for this outstanding performance. The film was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won seven Oscars—including Best Picture, Best Actor to Scott, and Best Director to Schaffner.
