Set in the Dutch West Indies around 1860, the story revolves around a bitter rivalry between sea captain Wayne and ship owner Adler. Wayne plays one of the most sinister and cruelest characters of his career. He is alternately charming and broodingly malevolent, given to alcohol-fueled bouts of violence and self-loathing, his motivations often morally ambiguous. This original Belgian poster is linen-backed and in very fine plus condition.

Taylor plays the daughter of a tough trial lawyer (Powell) who falls in love with his gangster client (Lamas). A remake of the film A FREE SOUL (1931) starring Norma Shearer and Clark Gable, this film does not have the seediness of the original but certainly has all the unbridled sensuality of the first movie. Taylor gives a thoroughly convincing portrayal of the willful, headstrong daughter who grows from a spoiled, immature flirt into a strong, sobered woman. Powell had been with MGM since 1934, and this was his final film for the studio. This original half sheet poster is folded and in very good condition. There are no fold separations, but the reverse side has some tape and some border distress. The poster would look very nice paperbacked, but can be framed as is.

Naturally, his little scheme backfires, and he ends up falling in love with his creation. This original and unused three sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.
