THE HUSTLER (1961) 20992

Movie Poster Art - Pressbook - The Hustler (1961)

Original 20th Century-Fox 1964 Re-Release Pressbook (14×17) for the Robert Rossen sports drama, THE HUSTLER (1961) starring Paul Newman, Jackie Gleason, Piper Laurie, and George C. Scott. This is the depressing and grim tale of “Fast” Eddie Felson, a renegade kid out to beat the system. Yet, at every turn the cynical and cold system beats Eddie. The film won two Academy Awards and was nominated for seven more, including Best Actor for Newman, Best Supporting Actor for Gleason and George C. Scott, Best Actress for Laurie, Best Director for Rossen, and Best Screenplay. The superbly sleazy jazz score by Kenyon Hopkins further enhances this wonderful film. Very Fine condition. Probably scarcer than the original 1961 pressbook. A slight pressbook for die-hard fans of this film. Shows the pool cue posters.
