Original Southeastern Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Charles W. Broun Jr., Joel Holt, and Arthur Knight documentary, THE WILD, WILD WORLD OF JAYNE MANSFIELD (1968) narrated by Robert Jason. This documentary follows Mansfield as she visits tourist attractions, nightclubs, nudist beaches, and beauty parlors on a European tour. Mansfield unfortunately was killed in a car accident during the production of this film. Although when she burst onto the scene in Hollywood in 1955 she immediately became one of the biggest sex symbols (after Marilyn Monroe), by the time this film was made her star was on the wane. She was no longer offered parts in A-movies but rather had to resort to acting in B-movie trash and touring nightclubs to make a living. This original scene lobby card, primarily devoted to women’s breasts, is in very good condition, with light general use and some staple holes.

Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Frank Tashlin musical comedy, THE GIRL CAN’T HELP IT (1956) starring Tom Ewell, Jayne Mansfield, and Edmond O’Brien. This hilarious musical farce is about a down-and-out gangster (O’Brien) who hires an alcoholic press agent (Ewell) to make his blonde bombshell girlfriend (Mansfield) a recording star in six months. This film is a very, very funny send-up of rock ‘n’ roll and show business, with a marvelously deadpan performance from Tom Ewell. But the real star, of course, is Jayne Mansfield, who realized early in her career that making fun of her bombshell image was her best bet. Amplifying this overstuffed performance were some of the greats of rock and roll’s golden age: Little Richard, Fats Domino, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and the BlueCaps and the immortal do-wop masters, The Platters. And who can forget the lovely Julie London? Not me. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very good plus condition—with minor fold separations and some tape stains in the corners.
