Immediately remorseful about what she’s done, Sarah (Connelly) journeys to the kingdom to retrieve her brother from the Goblin King Jareth (Bowie). The movie was a failure at the box office and grossed little more than $12 million in 1986 (less than half what it cost to make). However, the musical fantasy has acquired a larger following every year since its release and is now more popular with adults than children.
