Original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Norman Taurog science fiction comedy, VISIT TO A SMALL PLANET (1960) starring Jerry Lewis, Joan Blackman, Earl Holliman, and Fred Clark. Lewis plays a childish alien named Kreton, who decides to visit Earth. The screenplay was adapted from a popular Broadway play by Gore Vidal that opened at the Boothe Theater on February 7, 1957 and ran for 388 performances. This was the last studio picture for Lewis under his old Paramount contract before he formed his own independent production company. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

Lewis appears on the poster as an analog of James Bond, resonant of the way Sean Connery appeared in the campaign for THUNDERBALL. Except Lewis is wearing a tag that says “Chicken of the Sea.” The film also introduced Susan Bay for romantic interest. Jerry is a chemistry professor with no social life. But one day he creates an elixir that transforms him into a wild and popular party animal. The only problem is the elixir doesn’t last very long. Enthralled by the Jekyll and Hyde story since he was a kid, Lewis considered this film to be his best. Les Brown and other great jazz musicians of the time provide great music throughout the film. This wonderful Japanese poster is in excellent condition, never folded.

At just 10 years old, the young orphan Donna Peyton (Butterworth) inherits a vast fortune and must visit her many uncles (Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, and so on) to choose her new legal guardian. This was the sixth film that Lewis had both directed and starred in. Although the film adheres to the typical Jerry Lewis formula, it’s considered one of his better-made projects and certainly one of his funniest. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition– with only some pinholes, rumpling, some discoloration, and minor fold separations .

Original Paramount Pictures 1964 Re-release One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Norman Taurog musical comedy, THE CADDY (1953) starring Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Donna Reed, and Barbara Bates. This is the story of two golfing buddies, Harvey and Joe. Harvey (Lewis) though a talented golfer is too nervous to golf in public; so, he acts a coach and caddy for friend Joe (Martin). While on a PGA tour, a shrewd agent recognizes their natural comedic talent and introduces them to the world of show business. Martin and Lewis were an amazing team. Martin was a great singer and charmed all the ladies, while Lewis was an archetypal clown who made everybody laugh. A favorite among the Martin and Lewis films, Paramount re-released the movie several years after the breakup of the Martin and Lewis partnership. This poster is the re-release poster of 1964. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

In 1960 Paramount Pictures bundled two Jerry Lewis feature films as a double feature program – VISIT TO A SMALL PLANET and THE BELLBOY. The favorite American Clown of the French takes on Outer Space and the Hotel Industry. This could have been seen at the Drive-In and probably should have. Wonderful poster. Very fine folded condition. No fold separations. Good color.

Tashman (Jerry Lewis) is a lowly assistant at “Paramutual Pictures” until the big wigs decide they need someone to snoop around the studio and keep tabs on the employees. Tashman moves to the mailroom to work as the secret corporate stoolpigeon, and true comic chaos ensues. The hardest-working man in slapstick also co-wrote and directed THE ERRAND BOY, his eleventh film in just three years post Dean Martin. This original half sheet poster is in very fine condition.

Jerry gets to do all his crazy satirical stunts, and Dino gets to sing his songs. There you have it: the formula for Martin and Lewis, one of the most successful comedy teams in the history of movies. This film made in 3D, coming in 1953 at the epicenter of the 50s 3D craze. This original scene lobby card, one of the best portrait cards of Jerry as nut from any of their films shows him with actress Pat Crowley, is marked 3-D and is in very fine plus condition.
