Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Sidney Lumet crime drama black comedy, DOG DAY AFTERNOON (1975) starring Al Pacino, John Cazale, Charles Durning, and Chris Sarandon. The film is based on a Life magazine account of an actual robbery. Sonny (Al Pacino) and Sal (John Cazale) are two desperate New Yorkers who rob a bank in Brooklyn, but their plans for a quick and clean getaway degenerate into a prolonged hostage negotiation. The ordeal turns into a massive spectacle, and the two amateur criminals find themselves notorious socio-political icons when their sexuality, military background, and personal woes become the subject of public scrutiny. The production of the film is infamous; most of the dialogue was improvised from a very basic script, and the demands placed on the actors were so stressful that Pacino became clinically exhausted during the shoot. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition. There are some extra creases and pinholes in the corners. One of the great Lumet films.
