This is an original Columbia Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the David Selman romantic western, SQUARE SHOOTER (1935) starring Tim McCoy, Julie Bishop, Erville Alderson, Jacqueline Wells, and John Darrow. Col. Tim McCoy starred in many great westerns beginning in the silent era in THE THUNDERING HERD (1925) and continuing through the mid-1960s. Before enlisting in the army, he had moved to Wyoming where he became an expert horseman and also an authority on Native American tribes in the area. When he was asked to provide Indian extras for the western extravaganza, THE COVERED WAGON (1923), he began a Hollywood career as technical advisor and actor. In this classic western, he plays Tim Baxter who, after being framed for murder, returns from prison to clear his name and retrieve the ranch taken from him in a forged will.
