Original Polish Poster (25×35 ) for the Anthony Mann epic, THE FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE (1964) starring Sophia Loren, Stephen Boyd, Alec Guinness, James Mason, Christopher Plummer, Anthony Quayle, Omar Sharif, John Ireland, Mel Ferrer, Eric Porter and Finlay Currie. Producer Samuel Bronston literally re-created ancient Rome in order to present its fall, politically, socially and economically in this Ultra Panavision 70MM production that came in at an estimated budget of $19M in 1960s money. Filmed primarily at the Bronston Studios in Spain, this international production was First Class all the way with magnificent cinematography, a lush orchestral score by Dmitri Tiomkin and Mann’s solid direction. The production team even replicated the Roman Forum down to the smallest detail. The artwork on this Polish poster is quite modern and depicts the armored head of a fallen centurion very much in the style of a contemporary fresco. Art is by Wiktor Gorka. Very Fine Plus.

Original Universal Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the William Castle horror thriller, I SAW WHAT YOU DID (1965)—starring Joan Crawford, John Ireland, Leif Erickson, Sara Lane, and Andi Garrett. Teenagers Libby (Garrett) and Kit (Lane) get themselves in a lot of trouble when they taunt the unsuspecting with prank phone calls. “I know who you are and I saw what you did” is what they tell folks on the other end of the line. The joke backfires when the two girls get an actual murderer on the line. Not only do they get the murderer upset with them, but throw Mommie Dearest Joan Crawford into the mix and there is real party-line mayhem. This is strictly drive-in fare for the baby boomer youth quake era, but the poster, with its enormous face of Joan in major shriek-down, is truly frightening. This three sheet is in very good condition and the large format, with the huge Joan image, has not been seen much. A three sheet is a large poster; this three sheet was published in two sections, which have been joined together in Photoshop to make this image. This poster was actually used in a theater and has some minor defects including a tear, some small holes. Would make an excellent candidate for linen backing. Please ask us about poster restoration.

Original Columbia Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the hallmark political drama, ALL THE KING’S MEN (1949) starring Broderick Crawford, John Ireland, Joanne Dru, and Mercedes McCambridge. The film was produced, directed, and written by Robert Rossen based on a novel by Robert Penn Warren about the colorful life of Louisiana’s infamous governor Huey Long. Crawford plays Willie Stark, the character based on Long, who dreams of becoming a political populist. When he finally wins the governorship, he tries to do all the good things he promised. But alas, his administration is based on bribes, payoffs, and intimidation from a private army of police and paid thugs. Crawford’s lust for power is finally brought to an end when he is assassinated in the foyer of the state capitol. This grim tale was a breakout role for Crawford who won the Academy Award for Best Actor. McCambridge, in her debut playing Crawford’s equally callous and conniving aid, also won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. This original lobby card of Ireland slapping Dru is in good condition with just some pin holes and discoloration mostly on the borders, and gum residue on the back of the card.
