This is an original Universal International Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Jack Arnold sci-fi horror classic, CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954), starring Richard Carlson, Julie Adams, and Ben Chapman as the humanoid amphibious fish creature dubbed “Gill-Man.” This popular film with its eerie music and underwater photography captured the interest of sci-fi audiences and in the process practically saved Universal from bankruptcy in the 1950′s. With skillful direction by Jack Arnold and wonderful music – some of it by Henry Mancini – this film turned into an immediate cult classic still being enjoyed even today.
