A cautionary tale for those who would dare to go where no man has been before, the movie tells of a spaceship returning from a manned mission to Mars. Mission Control loses contact with the ship, and when it finally gets back to Earth, there are only two survivors among the crew. One of the survivors has a growth on his arm, and the other regales the awaiting scientists with tales of the Martians who basically would rather the Earth People stayed home. This original three sheet poster is folded and in fine condition– with only minor tears, fold distresses, edge wear, and tape residue.

Original Spanish Poster (28×39) for the Byron Haskin sci-fi classic, THE WAR OF THE WORLDS (1953) starring Gene Barry, Ann Robinson, and Les Tremayne. One of the best sci-fi movies of the 1950s, this is the film adaptation of the famous H. G. Wells novel, already revisited by the radio broadcast of Orson Welles’ Mercury Theatre on Halloween evening, 1938. That program, which began with a series of news bulletins without commercial interruption, caused near panic among listeners who were convinced that an actual Martian invasion was in progress. This popular film version of the story was nominated for three Academy Awards and won the Oscar for Best Special Effects for the near perfect swan-like flying machines attacking earth. A superb poster for this title. This original Spanish poster is paper-backed with some touch-up to the fold lines and is in very fine condition. Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the John Sherwood sci-fi horror thriller, MONOLITH MONSTERS (1957) starring Lola Albright, Grant Williams, and Les Tremayne. This sci-fi classic is a pleasant change from the giant-creatures-run-amuck and aliens-invade-the-world movies of the 1950s. This film has a unique menace—meteor fragments that grow into huge monoliths when exposed to water and then turn people into stone. It was originally released as a double feature with LOST SLAVES OF THE AMAZONS (1957). CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON director Jack Arnold wrote the original story on which this film is based, and the film also boasted some of the best special effects of the day.
