Original Columbia Pictures Group of Five Scene Lobby Cards (11×14) for the John Cromwell drama THE GODDESS (1958) starring Kim Stanley, Lloyd Bridges, Steven Hill, Patty Duke, and Louse Beavers. This drama, written by the brilliant Paddy Chayevsky, was basically in the form of a biopic and based around the early and upcoming years of an actress modeled on the real-life Marilyn Monroe. Kim Stanley, an acclaimed stage actress of the era, really made a splash with this performance, tearing up the screen with a degree of depth and emotion rivaled only by the likes of European actresses like Anna Magnani and Giuletta Masina. This was truly a portrait of a deepening misery and unhappiness experienced by an actress as she climbed the pinnacle of success. Stanley would make very few films over her career with this being one of the most sensational yielding her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. There are five lobbies in this group. Condition varies from Fine to Very Fine.

THE FUTURE IS HERE!! Original Lippert Films Insert Poster (14×36) for the Kurt Neuman sci-fi drama, ROCKETSHIP X-M (1950). David Bowie asked in a song “Is there life on Mars?” Astronauts Lloyd Bridges, Osa Massen, Hugh O’Brien, and John Emery discover that there is in this primitive 1950 science fiction / space travel film produced by Lippert. The astronauts are only shooting for the moon, but the ship malfunctions and they end up on Mars. They are surprised to find the remnants of a Martian population living in caves. Not exactly 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, but the poster is a winner. The film is written and directed by Kurt Neumann, who was born in 1908 and had a long career in movies — http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0627087/ . The poster has been recently restored, some small tears repaired, and the result is very nice indeed. Paper-backed. Fine plus condition, presents as very fine.

Original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Jim Abrams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker romantic comedy, AIRPLANE (1980) starring Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves, Robert Hays, and Leslie Nielsen. This master of all spoof movies, which only took a little more than a month to complete, is a hilarious satire of the disaster movies of the 1970s, particularly the “Airport” series. It may arguably be one of the absolute funniest films ever conceived and brought to the big screen. This original one sheet poster is folded and in fine condition, with only some toning at the fold lines.
