Original MGM Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the Mervyn LeRoy musical comedy, LATIN LOVERS (1953) starring Lana Turner, Ricardo Montalban, John Lund, and Louis Calhern. Turner plays a woman with everything—including $37 million she has just inherited. But she can’t tell if men pretend to love her just for her money. She meets and falls for Montalban on a trip to Brazil. Turner was gorgeous in the film, and costume designer Helen Rose had the inspiration to dress her in combinations of black and white. She was striking in contrast to her ultra-lush Technicolor trappings. This original three sheet poster is folded and in very good condition. The poster is in two sections –never really assembled but probably used at a theater. It has some fold separation and some small tears and pinholes. We recommend linen backing for this poster. Original MGM Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the John Huston film-noir classic, THE ASPHALT JUNGLE (1950)–starring Sterling Hayden, Sam Jaffe, Louis Calhern, and a young Marilyn Monroe. This is the story of Doc Riedenschneider (Jaffe), who has just been released from prison and seeks financial backing for a million-dollar heist that he has been planning for years. At first the plan seems to be successful, until a host of “little” problems and double crosses causes the whole plot to fall apart. Huston plucked Marilyn from obscurity and catapulted her acting career with this role of the naive, voluptuous mistress. Harold Rosson’s exceptional cinematography and Miklos Rozsa’s emotional score further enhance this crime masterpiece. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards including: Best Supporting Actor for Jaffe; Best Cinematography for Rosson; Best Director for Huston; and Best Screenplay for Ben Maddow and Huston. This is a very rare scene card with Monroe. The card is in fine plus condition with some minor border tears, which have been repaired with archival repair tissue. One of the most difficult to find Monroe posters.

Original MGM Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the Joseph L. Mankiewicz Shakespearean tragedy, JULIUS CAESAR (1953) starring Marlon Brando, James Mason, Louis Calhern, and John Gielgud. This excellent production of the famous tragedy tells the story of the assassination of Caesar by Brutus, Cassius, and other high-ranking Romans who believe that Caesar’s overarching ambition will lead to tyranny. But a moving speech by Caesar’s friend Antony forces the conspirators to flee Rome and eventually to kill themselves to avoid capture. The film won the Oscar for Best Art Direction and was nominated for Best Actor for Brando, Best Cinematography for Joseph Ruttenberg, Best Music for Miklos Rozsa, and Best Picture. This original three sheet poster is in very good condition.
