By the 1950s movie audiences weren’t satisfied with studio versions of far away places, they wanted the real thing. Paris and Rome were at the top of the list; so, Darryl Zanuck went whole hog on beautiful cinematography and three romances in this iconic drama. While the film was nominated for Best Picture, it won the Oscar for Best Original Song (“Three Coins in the Fountain” memorably sung by Frank Sinatra) and Best Cinematography. This original scene lobby card including all the major characters in the film at a party is in near mint condition.

This film was supposed to be another vehicle to bolster the career of the sex kitten of the 60s, and her screen presence and sexy dance numbers make the film fun to watch. Many critics consider this film to be Roger Moore’s best Bond role, with Louis Jourdan playing the very sophisticated and charming villain Kamal Khan. John Barry composed a memorable score, and the directing of John Glen is very entertaining, enjoyable, and a whole lot of fun. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

Original French One Panel Poster (47×63) for the Anthony Asquith drama, THE V.I.P.S (1963) starring Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Louis Jourdan, Maggie Smith, Margaret Rutherford, and Orson Welles. The story concerns a group of rich, powerful, and influential passengers who are grounded at Heathrow airport during heavy fog and proceed to hammer out their personal affairs in the airport lounge. This movie was the first time Taylor and Burton appeared together since CLEOPATRA, and while most critics demurred, the public ate it up. The film has acquired a certain cult status now, and was recently the subject of a documentary film. Rutherford won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her comic performance as the Duchess of Brighton. With beautiful artwork by Roger Soubie, this original French poster is in very fine plus condition.

Original 20th Century Fox One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Walter Lang musical comedy, CAN-CAN (1960)—starring Frank Sinatra, Shirley MacLaine, Maurice Chevalier, and Juliet Prowse. Set in the Montmarte district of Paris in 1896, the police don’t bother to enforce a ban on the risque can-can dance in a popular club owned by cute and nutty Simone (MacLaine). Sinatra, who was at the top of his game at this time, gives some stunning performances of fabulous Cole Porter songs. And Juliet Prowse gives an exuberant performance as a can-can girl. This poster is an average used theater exhibited copy. The poster is folded and in very good condition. The upper left corner is missing a piece in the border area. There are no fold separations, but there is a small hole in the lower left. This poster could be linen-backed successfully. Ask us about restoration.
