This is an original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Edward H. Griffith African adventure, SAFARI (1940) starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Madeleine Carroll, and Tullio Carminati. Millionaire Baron De Courtland (Carminati) and his fiancee Linda Stewart (Carroll) hire the bold and dashing Jim Logan (Fairbanks) who is recommended to them as “the best hunter and best guide in West Africa.” The three leads exude charm and charisma as they traverse exotic locations and challenging events that will test their character, but not without loss of life. This original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very good condition with vivid colors and some restoration repairing minor distresses and a few missing chips.

Original British International Pictures UK Six Sheet Poster (80×89) for the E. A. Dupont drama, ATLANTIC (1929) starring Franklin Dyall, Madeleine Carroll, and John Stuart. This is one of England’s first talkies and boasted the “biggest cast ever assembled in any picture.” This is a heavily fictionalized account of the sinking of the Titanic and was criticized for the actors melodramatically enunciating their lines, rolling their eyes, and using gestures more appropriate for silent cinema. The film does not attempt much in the way of special effects, but what is attempted is nicely done. The sinking of the ship is not shown but is indicated when the screen goes black one final time. Originally folded, this stone lithograph British six sheet poster is in very fine condition.
