OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27×41) for Alfred E. Green’s biography THE EDDIE CANTOR STORY (1953) starring Keefe Brasselle, Marilyn Erskine, Marie Windsor and Aline MacMahon. This was one of a series of biographies that were popular in the late 1940s and early 1950s on the likes of show business phenomenons like Al Jolson and Will Rodgers. These were often highly white-washed films that contained a nostalgic and sentimental tone chiefly celebrating the music and comedy of acclaimed performers of the past. In this one, the audiences is reminded of such Cantor classics as “Ida, Sweet as Apple Cider” and “If You Knew Susie.” This poster for THE EDDIE CANTOR STORY is folded and in very fine condition.

Original Associated Producers Complete Lobby Card Set (11×14) for the Maury Dexter sci-fi classic, THE DAY MARS INVADED EARTH (1963) starring Kent Taylor, Marie Windsor, William Mims, and Betty Beall. Although the film struggles to overcome its budgetary constraints, it does a fine job building intrigue and suspense as it slowly draws back the curtain of this clever Martian takeover. A scientist in a troubled marriage sends a probe to Mars, but when the probe returns it also brings invisible energy beings who are able to take on the exact body characteristics of the scientist and his family as their first step to taking over the earth. A goofy and wonderful set of sci-fi lobby cards featuring expressions of angst on all the performers faces — except for two
lovers smooching in a convertible! Even when the aliens are coming, there is still time to make out. This complete set of eight original lobby cards is in fine plus condition, with some smudges and pinholes in the borders.
