Set in St. Louis in 1904, this film creates an unabashed nostalgia for an idealized America in an age of innocence before the two World Wars. One of Vincente Minnelli’s finest films, and one of the crown jewels of MGM, MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS is all that one could ever hope for in an MGM musical. The film tells the story of the Smith family, living in St. Louis Missouri just before the time of the St. Louis World’s Fair. The Smith girls are coming of age, except for the darling Tootie Smith, immortally portrayed by Margaret O’Brien. When their father threatens to upend their happy life in St. Louis by taking a job in New York, each of the girls must
come to terms with change in their own way. One of the greatest of Garland’s roles, MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS has become a favorite family film. The one sheet is unmounted and in very fine condition.

Original Columbia Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Gordon Wiles crime drama, LADY FROM NOWHERE (1936) starring Mary Astor, Charles Quigley, Thurston Hall, and Victor Kilian. This is a somewhat scarce card. The card was once in a saddle-stitched collectors “keepsake” book. It was removed but there is damage and holes along the left border. Therefore we have graded it as very good plus. Otherwise quite fine.

Original Warner Bros. Insert Poster (14×36) for the John Huston thriller, ACROSS THE PACIFIC (1942) starring Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor, and Sydney Greenstreet. This exciting adventure thriller stars Bogart as an American artillery officer who is booted out of the service and finds himself on board a Japanese freighter bound from Halifax to Yokohama via the Panama Canal just before the attack on Pearl Harbor. He slowly uncovers a Japanese plot to attack the Canal Zone. All of the major cast members give very good performances, and the film reaches an exciting climax when Bogart foils the Japanese plans. This original insert poster is linen-backed and restored to fine condition.
