This is the story of a 19th Century Swedish engineer named Salomon Andree, who sets out to be the first man to find the North Pole using a hydrogen balloon called “The Eagle.” The balloon takes off with Andree and two friends from Svalbard in 1897, but the three men are never heard of again. Based on a true story, the film turns out to be one of the most psychologically terrifying films of all time. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

Original U.S. Lobby card set for the Ingmar Bergman film SHAME (SKAMMEN). In 1968, with the VietNam war raging, Bergman made this corrosive study of humans in time of war. He used a classic Bergman cast, Liv Ullman, Max Von Sydow and Gunnar Bjornstrand. The result was classic Ingmar Bergman. The lobby card set is in very fine plus to near mint condition.

Redford portrays a low-level CIA operative working in Manhattan. One morning, while stepping out for coffee, the entire staff of his unit is brutally murdered. It is up to him to solve the puzzle and bring some sense of justice to a world gone mad.. Director Pollock wisely utilizes the two leads to find a crackling romantic tension that mirrors the film’s breathless suspense. The poster design features a broken link connected to a chain link taloned to a surface like the claws of a bird of prey. Is the CIA evil? Will Redford’s attempt to flee and reveal the truth save him or kill him? With artwork by Czerniawski, this original Polish poster is in very fine condition.

Updating the 1930′s comic strip, this Flash Gordon (Jones) is a football hero who is skyjacked aboard Dr. Zarkov’s (Topol) rocketship along with the beautiful Dale Arden (Anderson). Arriving on the planet Mongo, they discover the planet is ruled by the tyrant “Ming the Merciless” (von Sydow), who intends to destroy Earth and make Dale his concubine. Flash teams up with two former rivals to rescue Dale, defeat Ming, and save the Earth. The film has impressive production design, colorful costumes by Danilo Donati, and a wonderfully campy soundtrack by Queen. With wonderful artwork by Richard Amsel, this original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition. NO fold separations and bright colors make this a nice example.

This is a unique and effective film about the emotional destruction of war as mirrored in one single marital relationship. It is a fascinating psychological study of how humans react in a situation of war. The film is not grounded in place or time, but rather in emotion. This original Italian locandina is unfolded and in fine condition, with only some edge wear and distress in the bottom border– would linen back beautifully.

Original 20th Century-Fox One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Joseph Ruben sci-fi thriller, DREAMSCAPE (1984) starring Dennis Quaid, Max Von Sydow, and Christopher Plummer. This is a story of a man (Quaid) who can enter and manipulate people’s dreams and is recruited by a government agency to help cure the President of the U.S. of his nightmares about nuclear war. Quaid gives an excellent performance, frequently injecting enjoyable comic relief. Although the effects might be considered primitive by today’s standards, the film treats us to some exceptional dream sequences that worked well for the time.
