This was yet another of the Amicus Films Omnibus entries featuring a quartet of horror stories involving a sinister house, vampirism, witchcraft, a psychotic strangler and a wax museum. All of these tales are under the investigatory eye of an inspector from Scotland Yard. Screenwriter Robert Bloch, best known for PSYCHO, delivers a frightfest of fun for fans of the genre. The original one sheet poster offered here is folded and in fine condition.

Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27×41) for Terence Fisher’s horror film FRANKENSTEIN MUST BE DESTROYED (1969) starring Peter Cushing, Veronica Carlson, Simon Ward and Freddie Jones. With a better than usual cast, Hammer Films creats a particularly strong entry in their ongoing Frankenstein series with this Victorian tale of science, madness, drug use and brain transplantation. Veteran actor Peter Cushing plays the Baron, this time involved in a plot to save his former medical partner, now insane and confined to a London asylum. The monster in this film, sympathetically portrayed by Freddie Jones, manages to evoke a fine balance between pity and terror. The poster is in very fine condition with minor pin holes.

TERROR’S HOUSE OF HORRORS (1956) starring Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Michael Gough, Bernard Lee and Donald Sutherland. This is known as one of the British Amicus Films “Omnibus” horror movies. In this entry, five strangers meet a mysterious figure in a train compartment and each draws a tarot card, leading into five different tales of vampirism, voodoo, murder, lycanthropy and more. The pairing of Lee and Cushing made this a particularly fun event for the horror buff. The poster is folded and in fine condition. Color is vivid. There are some pin holes from where the poster was pinned up when previously hung. There is a semi-circular tear of two inches mid-poster, repaired with archival tissue.

This Amicus Films production rivals Hammer Films at the top of its craft. Descendants of the original Marques de Sade sued to have their relative’s name removed from any advertising on this film. Original Universal-International Half Sheet Poster (22×28) for the Terrence Fisher horror classic, THE BRIDES OF DRACULA (1960) starring Peter Cushing, Martita Hunt, Yvonne Monlaur, and David Peel. This sequel to HORROR OF DRACULA (1958) has vampire hunter Van Helsing (Cushing) returning to Transylvania to destroy the handsome vampire Baron Meinster (Peel), who has designs on the beautiful young schoolteacher Marianne (Monlaur). This original British Hammer Film Productions title was one of their best Dracula productions with a magnificent performance by Cushing and a creepy subplot about the Oedipal relationship between the Baron and his mother. This original half sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.

This film was a British remake of the 1932 Universal classic starring Boris Karloff, but in this new version Christopher Lee makes the title character more powerful and threatening than Karloff. This film capped off an impressive initial run of horror movies from Hammer Studions, and it is beautifully filmed and wonderfully acted. This original one sheet poster is in very fine condition.

Original Cinerama Releasing Corporation Half Sheet Poster (22×28) for the Freddie Francis horror anthology, TALES FROM THE CRYPT (1972) starring Joan Collins, Peter Cushing, and Ralph Richardson. The British production company Amicus produced a string of noteworthy anthology horror films from 1962 until 1980. This film is based on the EC horror comics of the 1950′s by William Gains. Five people are trapped in a crypt, and each is shown his future by the evil crypt keeper Richardson. All five tales are ghoulish good fun, and this film is one of the best horror anthologies to come out of the UK. Originally folded, this original half sheet poster is printed on heavy stock and is in good condition, with only some stresses along the fold lines and minor tears and chips in the border area.
