CAMPBELL (1968) starring Gina Lollobrigida, Shelley Winters, Phil Silvers, Peter Lawford, and Telly Savalas. One of the best screwball comedies of the period, Carla Campbell (Lollobrigida) plays the mother of a lovely daughter, whose American soldier father was supposedly killed in World War II. But Carla isn’t really sure who the real father is, since she was intimate with three different soldiers at the time who are all still very much alive. When all three come back to Italy for a reunion with their wives, the craziness begins. OCEAN’S 11 (1960) 7441

full.oceans11-pressbook-7441

Original Warner Bros. Pressbook (12×14) for the Lewis Milestone crime comedy, OCEAN’S 11 (1960)‚ starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, and Sammy Davis Jr. The plot of this film revolves around eleven friends who know each other from World War II service and plan to rob five of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. This film is an interesting glimpse into the Rat Pack era‚ the era of ultimate coolness with the clubs, the Marilyn Monroe look-a-likes, flashy clothes, and lots (and lots) of money. Of course, there is also the legendary bad treatment of women and African-Americans. This pressbook has several cuts or excisions, there is a tear in the front page, and it is folded. It is therefore graded as good condition only and priced modestly. Still, the charm of the publicity material is preserved and this pressbook is hard to locate.

Both had been fresh faces on the MGM lot during the forties. THE RED DANUBE was an opportunity for both of these young players to step into a more dramatic role.
