Original United Artists 24 Sheet Poster (9 ft x 20 ft) for the Norman Panama spy comedy, THE ROAD TO HONG KONG (1962) starring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Joan Collins, and Robert Morley. In the seventh and last of their “road” films, Hope and Crosby return as con-men who get involved in Cold War intrigue about a secret Soviet formula for a new and improved rocket fuel. Peter Sellers steals the show with his uncredited Indian neurologist cameo. This original billboard-sized poster is unassembled but in very fine condition.

Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Blake Edwards crime comedy, THE PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN (1976) starring Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom, and Lesley-Anne Down. This fourth installment in the Pink Panther series has raving madman Dreyfus (Lom) building a doomsday machine and demanding that Clouseau (Sellers) be killed or else he will use the machine to wipe out all humanity. One of the funniest films in the series, the chemistry between Sellers and Lom is perfect, resulting in unrestrained folly. The film received one Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song “Come To Me” by Henry Mancini and Don Black. This original one sheet poster is folded and in good plus condition, with a missing chip out of the bottom border area.

Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the George Pal musical comedy, TOM THUMB (1958) starring Russ Tamblyn, Alan Young, June Thorburn, Terry-Thomas, and Peter Sellers. This delightful musical fantasy won the Oscar for Best Special Effects for its trick animation sequence when the toys come to life. Tamblyn is magnificent as Tom with his wonderfully acrobatic and lively dance routines. Terry-Thomas and Sellers, in one of their best comic pairings, all but steal the show as a bumbling pair of thieves. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition with some reservations. There is a chip out of the top border area. The corners are frayed with some missing paper. There are also very small fold separations at the top and bottom on the vertical fold (about one inch.) This poster would improve with linen backing. Ask us about poster conservation.

This was the fifth and last Pink Panther movie starring Peter Sellers before his untimely death in 1980. The premise of the story is that Inspector Clouseau is believed to have been killed but has really survived the attempt on his life and is now working “undercover.” The Pink Panther series, however, is never really about the story but more about the antics of the outrageously clumsy Inspector. In the end, this film stands as a tribute to the great comedic talent of Peter Sellers. This original advance style B one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition, with only minor fold separations.

Original Warner Brothers Window Card (14×22) for the Hy Averback romantic comedy, I LOVE YOU ALICE B. TOKLAS! (1968) starring Peter Sellers, Jo Van Fleet, Leigh Taylor-Young, and Joyce Van Patten. Sellers is outstanding and hilarious as an uptight Jewish lawyer, who is engaged to be married but falls in love with a free-thinking and free-living “hippie” (Taylor-Young) and decides to “drop out” himself. The title is a tribute to Gertrude Stein’s lifelong partner (Toklas) who published a cookbook in 1954 that contained the first printed recipe for marijuana-laced fudge. This original window card is in very fine condition.

Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Stanley Kubrick masterpiece LOLITA (1962) starring James Mason, Shelly Winters, Sue Lyon, and Peter Sellers. This is the tawdry but darkly hilarious story of a middle-aged professor (Mason) who becomes infatuated with a pubescent “nymphet” (Lyon) and then marries her lonely and sexually famished mother (Winters) in order to be closer to the under-age object of his obsession. His affections will be ultimately thwarted by a devious trickster named Clare Quilty (Sellers). The author of both the original novel and screenplay, Vladimir Nabokov, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay and the Director’s Guild of America nominated Kubrick for Best Director. This original studio one sheet is in near mint condition and has been expertly linen-backed.
