Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Curtis Bernhardt film noir thriller, POSSESSED (1947) starring Joan Crawford, Van Heflin, and Raymond Massey. Psychological thrillers were all the rage after the end of World War II. In this film Crawford plays a woman who becomes obsessed with Van Heflin—leading her to hallucinations, hysteria, and finally a breakdown. This film is certainly one of Joan Crawford’s best performances of her career, and her lively portrayal garnered her the first of her three nominations for Best Actress. This original one sheet poster is folded and in fine condition.

Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Leo Seltzer short documentary, JACQUELINE KENNEDY’S ASIAN JOURNEY (1962) narrated by Raymond Massey. As part of its Cold War campaign to promote American interests and ideology abroad, the United States Information Agency capitalized on and enhanced the First Lady’s growing popularity as a diplomatic force in this documentary about her visit to India and Pakistan in 1962. This original one sheet poster is folded and in fine plus condition—with only one minor blemish on a minaret image, minor fold separations, and slight rumpling showing modest age wear. This poster would linen back nicely.

This was James Dean’s screen debut as the neurotic and troubled twin son of the Bible-reading lettuce farmer Massey. His performance was so riveting that he was nominated for Best Actor, the first posthumous acting nomination in Academy Award history as Dean had been killed in an automobile accident in September 1955 at the age of twenty-four. Other Academy nominations included Best Director for Kazan and Best Screenplay for Paul Osborn’s adaptation of the popular John Steinbeck novel. Jo Van Fleet was nominated for and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress as the mother of the twin brothers and a successful but embittered brothel madam in Monterey. Originally folded, this one sheet poster is in very fine minus condition with only some minor foxing and a snipe on the right side.
