In this film, Frankenstein discovers how to contain the soul of somebody after they die. After his helper Hans (Morris) is unjustly found guilty and guillotined, his distraught girlfriend Christina (Denberg) kills herself. Frankenstein puts the soul of Hans into Christina’s body. Cushing is wonderful, as usual, as the completely sympathetic, intelligent, and witty scientist struggling outside society’s version of morality.
