This is an original Walt Disney Productions One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Wolfgang Reitherman animation classic, THE JUNGLE BOOK (1967) starring the voices of Phil Harris, Sebastian Cabot, Bruce Reitherman, and George Sanders. This was the last film that Walt Disney worked on, and many critics consider it to be one of his best animated films. A brilliant cast brings to life some of the most memorable characters in Disney history, and the songs and musical score are superb. Terry Gilkyson’s “The Bare Necessities” was nominated for Best Song. The film is inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s story about the boy “Mowgli” who is raised by wolves in the jungles of India. At just 10 years old, the young orphan Donna Peyton (Butterworth) inherits a vast fortune and must visit her many uncles (Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, and so on) to choose her new legal guardian. This was the sixth film that Lewis had both directed and starred in. Although the film adheres to the typical Jerry Lewis formula, it’s considered one of his better-made projects and certainly one of his funniest. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition– with only some pinholes, rumpling, some discoloration, and minor fold separations .
