Original MGM Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the John Huston film-noir classic, THE ASPHALT JUNGLE (1950)–starring Sterling Hayden, Sam Jaffe, Louis Calhern, and a young Marilyn Monroe. This is the story of Doc Riedenschneider (Jaffe), who has just been released from prison and seeks financial backing for a million-dollar heist that he has been planning for years. At first the plan seems to be successful, until a host of “little” problems and double crosses causes the whole plot to fall apart. Huston plucked Marilyn from obscurity and catapulted her acting career with this role of the naive, voluptuous mistress. Harold Rosson’s exceptional cinematography and Miklos Rozsa’s emotional score further enhance this crime masterpiece. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards including: Best Supporting Actor for Jaffe; Best Cinematography for Rosson; Best Director for Huston; and Best Screenplay for Ben Maddow and Huston. This is a very rare scene card with Monroe. The card is in fine plus condition with some minor border tears, which have been repaired with archival repair tissue. One of the most difficult to find Monroe posters.

Original United Artists Six Sheet Poster (81×81) for the Lewis Allen crime thriller, SUDDENLY (1954)– starring Frank Sinatra, Sterling Hayden, James Gleason, and Nancy Gates. In the drowsy little California town of Suddenly, three gangsters trap a family in their own house because it is the best place from which to try and carry out an assassination plot on the President. Sinatra gives an outstanding and multi-dimensional performance as the ruthless criminal mastermind of this plot. Supposedly, Lee Harvey Oswald watched SUDDENLY just days before he assassinated President Kennedy. History imitating art? This original six sheet poster is in very fine condition.
