Original Warner Brothers Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Michael Curtiz war drama, PASSAGE TO MARSEILLE (1944) starring Humphrey Bogart, Claude Rains, Michele Morgan, Sydney Greenstreet, and Peter Lorre. Many people consider this film an attempt to recapture the magic of CASABLANCA (1942); indeed, both films had many of the same cast as well as the same director, screenwriter, composer, and producer. This film is also a rousing piece of war propaganda, but has Bogart playing a French journalist framed for murder because of his political beliefs. He is sent to Devil’s Island but escapes with four comrades, who eventually wind up on a French freighter bound for home. In a great action sequence toward the end of the film, Bogart and his cohorts prevent the takeover of the ship by Nazi sympathizers. This original scene card of men boarding a ship is in fine condition with only some minor pinholes, slight discoloration, and minor surface wear.
