Original Polish Poster (22×32) for the Ken Annakin comedy, THOSE DARING YOUNG MEN IN THEIR JAUNTY JALOPIES/aka MONTE CARLO OR BUST (1969) starring Bourvil, Tony Curtis, Peter Cook, Gert Frobe, Susan Hampshire, Dudley Moore, Eric Sykes and Terry-Thomas. Director Annakin previously helmed the wildly popular THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES and attempted to recapture some of that film’s comedy, romance and adventure in this European road race comedy. The poster design is of a tweedy Brit driving a vintage car of the early 20th century. While directly representative of the film, the art has a modern, satirical take on the subject. Art on this poster is by Eryk Lipinsky. Condition is Very Fine.

Original MGM Style B One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Hy Averback comedy, WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT (1968)—starring Doris Day, Robert Morse, and Terry-Thomas. Set during the Great Northeast Blackout of 1965, this delightful 60s comedy stars Day as a stage actress who constantly gets cast as a virgin. This was the next to last film that Doris Day would make. This poster is folded, was used in a theater, and has one small hole. Fine condition; theater-used.

Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the George Pal musical comedy, TOM THUMB (1958) starring Russ Tamblyn, Alan Young, June Thorburn, Terry-Thomas, and Peter Sellers. This delightful musical fantasy won the Oscar for Best Special Effects for its trick animation sequence when the toys come to life. Tamblyn is magnificent as Tom with his wonderfully acrobatic and lively dance routines. Terry-Thomas and Sellers, in one of their best comic pairings, all but steal the show as a bumbling pair of thieves. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition with some reservations. There is a chip out of the top border area. The corners are frayed with some missing paper. There are also very small fold separations at the top and bottom on the vertical fold (about one inch.) This poster would improve with linen backing. Ask us about poster conservation.

Original American International Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Robert Fuest witty and stylish black comedy, THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES (1971) starring Vincent Price, Joseph Cotton, and Hugh Griffith. A doctor, scientist, organist, and Biblical scholar Dr. Anton Phibes (Price) seeks revenge on the nine doctors he considers responsible for his wife’s death. Horror all-star Price gives one of his best performances; indeed, the role rejuvenated his career in the 1970s. This original one sheet poster is folded and in fine plus condition. It does having some rubber-stamping on the back, but it doesn’t bleed through to the image side. There are minor fold distresses at the fold intersection.
