Original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Vernon Keays western musical comedy, ROCKIN’ IN THE ROCKIES (1945). Mary Beth Hughes is shown as a cowgirl in this excuse for Columbia to assemble a bunch of musical artists with their short subject Kings The Three Stooges in a dude-ranch / western swing B-picture. The Hoosier Hotshots were radio artists in the pseudo-country music mode and Spade Cooley was an authentic western swing star. The plot is thin, involving gambling, prospecting, performing, comedy, music, ranch life. It’s a rather light, inconsequential but amusing mix. But the poster evokes an era before country music had ever heard of Hank Williams. Fine condition. Some distresses, but would linen-back nicely.
