DR. NO (1962) 8324 SOLD

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Original United Artists One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Terence Young spy thriller, DR. NO (1962) starring Sean Connery, Ursula Andress, and Joseph Wiseman. This was the first James Bond feature film, and it profited from the creator Ian Fleming being greatly involved in the production. There is no overload of explosions or special effects. The plot can be told clearly, taken seriously, and enjoyed from start to finish. DR. NO set the standards, albeit on a limited budget, for the entire series. Connery’s brilliant use of charm, coolness, and cruelty truly defined the Bond character, and his portrayal of the ultimate spy has never been equaled. The film was a box office smash success and vindicated the studio’s decision to sign the unknown Connery. This original one sheet poster is folded and in near mint condition.

After the death of M, Sir James Bond is called back from retirement to stop SMERSH. His ultimate plan dictates that every agent will be named Bond. Intended to be the ultimate spy spoof, it is both a satire of Bond movies and even more a satire of the “cool” and “hip” films of the late 1960s. Some critics have described it as a screwball comedy with a touch of British absurdity. This original set of 10 color action stills is in very fine condition.
