Original Universal Pictures Half Sheet Poster (22×28) for the Joseph Pevney musical comedy, TAMMY AND THE BACHELOR (1957)—starring Debbie Reynolds, Leslie Nielsen, Walter Brennan, and Mala Powers. Debbie Reynolds was an amazing MGM contract player who had appeared in many films, and this film, which she made at Universal was initially a flop until the title song was released as a record and climbed the pop charts, winning Reynolds a gold record. Universal put the movie out again, after the song’s success, and the movie was as responsible as any film for mid-century America’s love affair with Debbie. Leslie Nielsen is the guy who falls for the lovely Louisiana lass. Walter Brennan plays himself. Ross Hunter was the producer. Later he would gain renown as the producer of PILLOW TALK and other Universal Pictures sex comedies. This original half sheet poster is folded and in fine plus condition– with some minor edge distresses, pinholes, and fold separations.

SLIGHTLY DANGEROUS (1943) 1913

Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Wesley Ruggles romantic comedy, SLIGHTLY DANGEROUS (1943)—starring Lana Turner, Robert Young, Walter Brennan, and Dame May Whitty. This delightful comedy finds Turner being bored with her job and with her life in Hotchkiss Falls. The film gave 21-year-old Turner her first big starring break in a film not dominated by a male star. While lightweight comedy for sure, Turner never misses a chance to give the role of scheming girl a sense of fun and innocence—with a sexy twist. This original one sheet poster is unbacked and in very good condition. There are some minor water stains along the bottom border and some minor fold distresses and separations.
