Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27×41) for Arthur Penn biographical masterpiece, BONNIE AND CLYDE (1967) starring Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, Gene Hackman, and Estelle Parsons. A bored girl and a small-time bank robber team up and leave a string of violent robberies and newspaper headlines that catch the imagination of depression era America. Instead of just portraying the two as psychopathic thrill killers, we are presented a pair of archetypal lovers just bored with their lives and out for some fun and some cash. The famous violent ending hastened the end of anachronistic Hayes code, and the film helped shape the 60′s image of the anti-hero. Nominated for 10 Academy Awards including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Picture—the film won the Oscar for Best Cinematography and Best Supporting Actress to Parsons. This original one sheet poster is in fine plus condition. Folds are in good shape and the poster shows modest signs of use. A perfect candidate for linen backing; ask us about restoration services.

Original MGM Three Sheet Poster (41×81) for the John Frakenheimer drama, ALL FALL DOWN (1962)—starring Eva Marie Saint, Warren Beatty, Karl Malden, Brandon DeWilde, and Angela Lansbury. Novelist and playwright James Leo Herlihy wrote two popular novels in the sixties: “Midnight Cowboy” and “All Fall Down.” In ALL FALL DOWN (1962), the hedonistic and womanizing elder son (Warren Beatty) of a wealthy couple (Angela Lansbury and Karl Malden) finally finds the girl to whom he believes he can be faithful (Eva Marie Saint). John Frankenheimer’s third film, ALL FALL DOWN explores what it means to be manly versus what it means to be a man and in that sense shares a common theme with MIDNIGHT COWBOY. THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE (1961) 9180

full.theromanspringofmrsstone-1sh-9180

Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Jose Quintero film of Tennessee Williams’ THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE (1961) starring Vivien Leigh, Warren Beatty, Coral Browne, Jill St. John, and Lotte Lenya. After her husband’s fatal heart attack on the plane ride to Italy, Mrs. Stone (Leigh) leases a magnificent apartment in Rome and is introduced to a handsome young man (Beatty) by the Contessa (Lenya), a madam living off the earnings of her “boys.” Based on a novel by Tennessee Williams, it hammers home the realization that old age is the ultimate punishment for the vain and selfish. In many ways, Leigh is the character she is playing, with her fading fame and beauty amplifying the actual pain of going through her divorce from Laurence Olivier during the shooting of the film. Indeed, Leigh underwent a number of electro-shock treatments right after finishing the movie. But nevertheless she is fabulous as Karen Stone, never missing a beat in etching a portrayal of the lonely American matron. Lotte Lenya received both an Academy Award and Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her memorable portrayal of the Contessa. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine plus condition.
