One of the best sci-fi movies of the 1950s, this is the film adaptation of the famous H. G. Wells novel, already revisited by the radio broadcast of Orson Welles’ Mercury Theatre on Halloween evening, 1938. That program, which began with a series of news bulletins without commercial interruption, caused near panic among listeners who were convinced that an actual Martian invasion was in progress. This popular film version of the story was nominated for three Academy Awards and won the Oscar for Best Special Effects for the near perfect swan-like flying machines attacking earth. A superb poster for this title. This original Spanish poster is paper-backed with some touch-up to the fold lines and is in very fine condition.
