Original Republic Pictures circa 1920 Re-Release Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Charles Chaplin comedy short, THE FIREMAN (1916), starring Chaplin, Edna Purviance, Lloyd Bacon, and Eric Campbell. This early comedy classic is an occupation comedy, wherein Chaplin portrays a fireman and builds gags around scenarios associated with being a fireman who does everything wrong. And while this film has lots of comic mayhem, it also has a developed story, multiple sets, location shooting, a love story, and even a full-size structure fire. This original scene lobby card is in very good condition with multiple pinholes and some edge-wear. Otherwise, the condition is quite good.

Chaplin’s great satire on Nazi Germany, THE GREAT DICTATOR was the first Hollywood film to renounce Hitler directly, took a very strong stand against fascism, and even directly confronts anti-Semitism. Besides being a box office success, the film was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor and Screenplay for Chaplin. This original scene lobby card is in very fine condition.

Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Charles Chaplin romantic comedy, A COUNTESS FROM HONG KONG (1967) starring Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren. This last picture from Chaplin deals with a Russian countess (Loren) who stows away on a luxury liner in Hong Kong determined to seek a new life in America. When she hides in the cabin of a millionaire diplomat (Brando), an endless stream of misunderstandings and complications ensue. Though some critics claim that Brando was miscast, he also exhibits great comic timing in the many madcap farce scenes. This original one sheet poster is in very fine condition.
