Original Verity Films 1949 Reissue Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Alfred Hitchcock crime adventure, JAMAICA INN (1939) starring Charles Laughton, Horace Hodges, Marie Ney, and Maureen O’Hara. This was the last movie Hitchcock made in his native England before coming to Hollywood. It was the first of three Daphne Du Maurier tales that Hitchcock made into movies; the other two were REBECCA (1940) and THE BIRDS (1963). Set in Cornwall in the early 19th century, a young orphan Mary (O’Hara) goes to live with her aunt and uncle who are also the landlords of the Jamaica Inn. Mary soon realizes that the Inn is the base of a gang of pirates who lure ships to their doom on the rocky coast. This original 1949 reissue scene lobby card is in very fine condition.

full.The Night of the Hunter

Original United Artists Three Sheet Poster (39.5×78) for the Charles Laughton film-noir thriller, THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER (1955) starring Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters, and Lillian Gish. Beloved by Mitchum fans and considered by many to be a horror masterpiece, the film was a critical and box office flop. So much so that director Laughton swore he would never direct another film—and he didn’t. Mitchum gives a stunning and frightening performance as a religious fanatic who marries and murders widows for their money, believing he was helping God rid the world of women who arouse men’s carnal instincts. This original three sheet poster is linen-backed but is graded as good because the linen backing is old. MovieArt will sell this three sheet completely rebacked afresh for $900 or reduce the price to $500 as is.
